Free Thoughts - Free Kids :: Introduction to the stars

09/06/2008 - 20:00
09/06/2008 - 22:00

Each month the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society holds a Public Star Party where anyone can attend for an introduction to star gazing. We will be attending the meeting in Bear Creek Park, starts at 8pm. There should be plenty of people with telescopes there who can provide some basic instruction on using a telescope. Should be fun! For more information about the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society please visit http://www.csastro.org/

Drinking Skeptically in Colorado Springs

09/17/2008 - 18:30
09/17/2008 - 21:00

When: 6:30 PM ***Note the time change***

Where:
Jack Quinn's Irish Alehouse and Pub
21 S Tejon St
Colorado Springs, CO 80903
(719) 385-0766

Swing on by and join Drinking Skeptically for some good Irish pub food, drinks, and great conversations. We will be meeting at Jack Quinn's Irish Alehouse. Ask the front desk hostess to find out which table we are seated at. There is dollar parking at the Plaza of the Rockies, which is one block south from the pub. The pub may be a bit busier this month since some firemen are meeting in the local area, so I changed the meeting time to 6:30 PM. This month is trivia time! I will pass out skeptical trivia questions you can read and quiz each other on. Feel free to bring some of your own, too.

Everyone is welcome even if you do not drink.

Free Thoughts - Free Kids : Back to school !

It's been a week since our kids went back to school here in the Springs. What with summer camps and visitors from out of state the summer seemed to go quickly for my family. We should be grateful here in Colorado to have such a good school system compared to many other states. Let's hope that common sense, reason and good education continue this school year for our children.
